2023 Festival Highlights

Thank you for making this milestone unforgettable

After a fantastic run of online screenings, the curtains have closed and Damn These Heels Queer Film Festival has officially concluded for this year. We are grateful for 20 fabulous years of celebrating love, diversity, and storytelling at the Festival!

The Festival commenced with an impactful inauguration as Frankie Gonzales Wolf shared her remarkable journey of vying for public office in the traditionally conservative landscape of San Antonio, Texas.

Frankie captivated the audience with their emotionally resonant documentary A Run For More. This documentary ventured into themes of profound importance, including representation, love, family, and self-discovery.

Special guest Miss Coco Peru, the iconic drag queen and performer, brought the house down with her spectacular one-woman show. Her unique blend of comedy and heartfelt storytelling kept the audience in stitches and touched the very core of our hearts.

This year’s festival was an unforgettable testament to the power of storytelling and representation in film. The heart of the Damn These Heels Queer Film Festival lies in its diverse and thought-provoking film selections.

From powerful coming-of-age stories to gripping dramas and laugh-out-loud comedies, the festival’s films covered a broad spectrum of LGBTQ+ experiences. Each film served as a reminder of the importance of representation in media and the strength of the queer community’s narratives.

One of the central highlights was the influential voices in the LGBTQ+ community coming together to share their insights, experiences, and wisdom through panel discussions, workshops, art exhibits, and nonprofit exhibitors.

Damn These Heels continues to serve as a powerful platform for engaging in vital conversations about the challenges and triumphs of the queer community.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to all our attendees, supporters, and sponsors who made this festival a resounding success!

It is our hope that the stories and experiences shared during this festival continue to inspire and resonate with our community, encouraging progress and acceptance in the world of cinema and beyond.
